Turkey Tourism Revenues
Tourism revenues in Turkey rose 22.2 percent year-on-year to $ 11.4 billion in the fourth quarter of 2022, of which 84.7 percent came from foreign visitors and 15.3 percent from citizens resident abroad, mainly for personal or package tours. The average expenditure per night of visitors departing from Turkey was $86 and 63% of the visitors came to Turkey for travel, entertainment, sportive and cultural activities while secondary purpose of visit was visiting relatives & friends by 23%. source: Turkish Statistical Institute
In Turkey, Tourism Revenues is defined as the total expenditure made in Turkey by foreigners and citizen visitors resident in abroad (excluding real estate expenditures, repair-maintenance expenses for residences, durables etc.). Tourism income includes the expenditure on food and beverages, accommodation, health, transportation in Turkey, sports, education, culture, international transportation with Turkish firms, mobile phone roaming expenditures, marina service expenditures, souvenirs etc.
